First is that these trees turn. Still don't know what they are. Would probably recognize the name, but couldn't tell it to you if I had to.
Second is the Sculpture by the Sea.
Every year at the end of October, the Coastal Walk between Bondi and Bronte turns into an outdoor art gallery. The walk is one of the best walks in Sydney to begin with. Adding 100 to 150 sculputres along the walk only make it a unique experience. Granted, they expect 500,000 people to visit so you have to be ok with slow walkers and crowds. Originally I wanted to get up for sunrise to capture a few pictures, but when my alarm went off at 5am I quickly turned that off. Next time, I guess.
I managed to to take a few pictures and decided to post them here. Seeing as though I haven't posted much here, I thought I'd add some words to them.

I'm not sure if these were supposed to tie together like this, but it kind of looked like the mirror dog going after a water spout.
The reverse reflection off the water globe was pretty cool.
This is the start of the Bondi to Bronte coastal walk. Looking back at Ben Buckler, just north of Bondi Beach.
This seems like it will be the most popular sculpture this year. Stairs to nowhere. It's an amazing trick on the eyes, even in person.
Overlooking Tamarama Beach.
Looking north towards Bronte Beach. I mean, 'cmon. Look at this view!
If you ever find yourself in Sydney and can plan it around this time, it's just one of the many things Sydney offers throughout the year.
Am so jealous! My favs of your pics were the water globe and the stairway to nowhere. (The trees are jacarandas...not native to AU...they are eye-catching!)
ReplyDeleteOoo...liked the bike, too.
